Such a feature has no purpose.

A feature as such is just something I have seen on a few of the forums I am on. Was just thrown out as an option because I know its possible and just adds a little different feature to LFS-T is all.

Hmm, I dont really need to know how many people are viewing a thread. How many times it has been loaded (# of views) says enough for me.

The only really useful version of this feature is showing who is viewing certain threads, which is really an admin-only feature. But that is very hard on the server and I don't want to risk bringing the forum to a grinding halt.

It is a security feature and can not be disabled. I know it is annoying when your IP changes regularly but it is to stop attacks so we must endure it. You can nominate a special password to save time when updating the session instead of your usual one if you like.

private areas inside each team board would be a nice idea. only people on the team can access that area inside the team board (team leaders should manage that part imo), and it would be a nice place to discuss team matters, give out server passwords etc..

There is a hidden option with your admin powers. Not quite sure how it works though, I'm gonna test it out now.

How about a different icon next to the thread when you have posted something in a topic? Sometimes I know I forget which topics I post in.

Just a random thought..

I don't think that is possible to do mate.  Undecided

You can click on "favourites": and a little star appears next to a topic, will that do the job for you?

Im not sure that this has already been said but...
How about we have a competition to design a new header for the site?

This is just an idea and there are lots of factors to consider but i think that this will improve the site and give it a new fresh and modern look.

that's a pretty interesting idea, if you never brought it up, I wouldn't noticed that we've been using the same header for years already..  Shocked

I like to same logo to be remained, but maybe some different backgrounds or graphics would be nice, it has to blend in with the grey/brownish forum colors of course...hehe  Tongue

Yep, can't change the logo because its nice as Smiley
Yer, has to match the colours on the sites skin. Do we want to have the same dimensions? Keeping in mind that it has to be friendly to thos 1/100000 people that run their computers res at 800x600 Tongue

It's a nice idea but we won't be doing it. I've thought about this a million times and always decided to leave the banner as it is. If there was to be a change I would make it myself or ask Toni to make it. Sorry to rain on your parade, just being honest with you guys.

p.s. I no longer cater to people who use 800 x 600 resolution. That res was useful when 14inch monitors were sold and they aren't sold anymore. 1024 x 768 is the minimum res I think about when designing web content and layouts. In a few years we might see 1152 x 864 as the minimum since most people will own at least a 17inch monitor.
